The quote “it takes a village” in regards to raising children? Right on the money. Read this quote from the book with me…
What your children need is spiritual nurture. They need to be taught the ways of God. They need to be instructed in the character of God so that they can learn a proper fear of God. They need to understand that all of life rushes toward the day when we shall stand before God and give account…in short, they need nurturing instruction.
Tedd Tripp, Shepherding a Child’s Heart
We are blessed to be part of a wonderful church family. I once complained about the smallness of our church and the difficulty I thought I was facing by my husband and I serving either on worship team or in children’s ministry in what seemed like every Sunday. How wrong I was.

Please join me over at Kindred Grace to read my roundabout trip finding a church home. Here’s a teaser to get you to head over there… ;)

I had missed most Sundays and Wednesdays due to tournaments and practices, but that was the only way I was going to afford tuition at a four year institution, plus, I loved basketball almost as much as I loved Jesus. I could never have anticipated what he said to me next.

This is part of a 31 day series of shepherding a child’s heart in 5 minutes a day (click here for the series intro). I pray this series edifies you as much as reading Tripp’s book has encouraged and challenged my husband and I in how we raise our children.
